台中市1名12歲女童因為感冒前往診所看病拿藥，卻在吃藥後全身水腫、起疹子且意識模糊，母親嚇得趕緊將她送往醫院急救，才發現因為女童1星期有5天都吃雞排、鹽酥雞等高熱量食物而引起尿毒症，肌酸酐已嚴重超標。經過治療女童已經恢復意識，但是腎功能無法恢復，必須接受終生洗腎。該名女童，每天都會瞞著媽媽到鹽酥雞攤購買高熱量炸物，且1星期竟高達5次，長期下來導致腎臟無法負荷，但腎臟病初期屬隱匿性，加上女童年紀太小，才無法察覺身體已有異狀。
